Shape Making on the Ground

Rope can be a powerful tool for sculpting the body, and in this class we’ll dive into a toolbox for choosing and achieving engaging beautiful shapes with our partner. We’ll learn some methods of encouraging discovery of new ranges of interesting motion, strategies for sustaining challenging poses, and a deeper understanding of the use of negative space to highlight the body’s form.

Prerequisites:

Skill level-beginner/intermediate

Riggers: Single column tie, basic frictions, basic handling skills, an understanding of how common harnesses interact with the body on the ground.
